Every session has a unique feel, with distinctive details to spark inspiration and creativity for our real brides. How do you pull off the perfect styled shoot? Hint: a lot of collaboration! None of our swoon-worthy styled shoots could have happened without an amazing vendor team working together. Take a look at our top three tips for a memorable styled shoot that will stand out and inspire.

1. Pick a theme: it is so important to begin planning a styled shoot with a solid concept. Decide on your vision, and stick to it. In some cases, you may join a team that already has a creative direction… get on board, and get behind the idea! The best results come from styled shoots where everyone is working toward a common goal, with a cohesive understanding of the overall direction. Whether you’re dreaming of waterfalls elopements or garden tea parties, make sure the entire team is on the same page throughout the styled shoot process.
2. Set the scene: once you have a theme in mind, set the scene with the large details. Start with location: what kind of venue best represents your theme? How can it be enhanced? Keep it cohesive by choosing large details that align with your theme. Choose a mid-century chair over a vintage settee if you’re going for a modern theme; or opt for wine barrels in a vineyard setting. 3. Select 3 “wow-worthy” creative details: once the cohesive large details have set the scene, you can seek out the magical details that will set your shoot apart. Make sure you have at least three incredible details that are unique to your shoot… but, to avoid competing elements, don’t have more than five “wow” details in total.

With just three tips, you have a foolproof plan for a gorgeous shoot. Remember, collaboration is key; stay on track with an aligned end goal. Let others’ creativity flow, and contribute stand-out ideas that work within the given concept.
