Here are some fun activities that you’re entire family can enjoy. We hope you will go visit some of these fantastic events and let us know if you do!
The Galleria enjoys lighting its massive indoor Christmas tree so much that the mall is going to celebrate it several times, with each occasion featuring Olympic-level skaters and a “pyrotechnic Santa.”
Saturdays through Dec. 20 at the Galleria Dallas.
Whatever the weather, this Addison park qualifies as a winter wonderland by virtue of its spectacular lighting displays and walking paths. Live music and other activities on select nights just sweeten the deal.
Nov 30th through Dec. 29 at the Vitruvian Park.
For those who’ve lived in the Dallas area awhile, the trains at NorthPark are as much a part of the holidays as winter break and last-minute shopping. While you’re at NorthPark tackling the latter, stop by this elaborate toy-train exhibit benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Set on 1,600 feet of track snaking through 4,000 square feet of space, the trains roll through replicas of landmarks in Dallas and elsewhere in the U.S.
Level Two (next to Nordstrom) at NorthPark Center
Over 175,000 lights choreographed to music set the scene for Frisco’s Christmas in the Square this year. And there’s a sack-load of festive fun planned as well, including open-air carriage rides, an outdoor ice rink, a snow maze, trackless train rides, a tubing snow slide, live entertainment and even a parachuting Santa. Admission is free, though some attractions require a fee. Oh, and there will be snow, at least the man-made kind, every Friday and Saturday through Christmas.
The yuletide celebrations run daily from 6 to 10 p.m., November 24 through December 31, 2017. The skate rink will be open from November 18 through January 3 (except on Thanksgiving and Christmas). Note that many activities will only be available during the special event night on December 16.
Every holiday season the City of Richardson transforms the lawn next to the city hall into a virtual winter wonderland, complete with extravagant lighting displays and miniature gingerbread-style houses offering a variety of fun-filled activities for kids to participate in. To top it off, there’s also a miniature train, Santa photo ops and nightly live performances by local choirs, singers, musicians and dance groups. It’s the perfect place to make the holiday season even more magical for your little ones, plus you can’t beat the price (everything is free).
Starts December 2 and runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through December 17th.
