Boy, where do I begin? There is never a dull moment with the incredibly fierce and funny Marsi Hubbard, CEO, and founder of Brite Beauty. With the current situation of the world, quarantine and creativity now largely go hand in hand. Marsi suggests trying new, fun colors with your makeup! Ever experimented with neon? Why not try it now! With masks now required in public, it can be fun to let your creativity show through your eye makeup. Worried about your foundation smearing? Try a waterproof liquid and a setting powder. Have a virtual first date? Play with a red lip and fun cat-eye. With so much freedom to express yourself, you may find a new trend that you hadn’t thought of before.

“Find joy and celebrate the small things in this transitional time” – Marsi Hubbard

Marsi makes a point that I absolutely adored at the end of our conversation. She says “double down on your strengths, and find help with your weaknesses.” You may be thinking “what does this have to do with this episode?” but I felt it really hits home for many of us. The year 2020 has been full of ups and downs, and ultimately a big time for self-reflection. Whether you’ve had the opportunity to reflect on your business, your country, your family and friends, or yourself, I think that this is a year for growth.

Maybe you’re growing creatively, or growing your business, or maybe your growing in learning how to better your community. Learning about our weaknesses and finding purpose in our strengths will lead not only to a better you, but the ability to better others. Use your neighbor in your weaknesses, and ask for help. Encourage them in their strengths. Let’s use this time to foster community and friendship, and make each other better.
