Reminiscing about your favorite happy hour spots? Missing the faces of family and friends? Let’s be honest – we know times are a little dull and drab, but local restaurants are getting creative in the midst of handling Dallas’s newly instated “Stay at Home” order when it comes to servicing their patrons. It’s time to throw on your favorite playlist (don’t worry, we’ve even created one for you) and bring your favorite local restaurants to your dinner table. Here’s how you can do it:
Sixty Vines – Uptown
Let’s all go ahead and give Sixty Vines a big hand for curating the Quarantine Kit for your social distancing blues. They’ve created a plethora of kits to choose from, including the Pizza Kit, the Wagyu Steak Kit, and the Brunch Kit, to name a few. Plus – they’re offering their entire wine list at 50% off.
Vestals Catering Co.
We are big fans of the Vestals team, so you can imagine how thrilled we were to find out that they are offering delivery and pick-up service on their Reheat Ready Delivery Meals (plus, beer and wine!) Shoot them over an email at catering@vestalscatering.com to reserve for your next virtual dinner party.
Fiction Coffee
Open until further notice, Fiction is focused on serving the community by offering to-go coffee and bite orders and retail coffee you can brew at home. Head over to their storefront on Ross & Hall St. to cozy up and get ready for an at-home coffee date with your roommate or S/O. Feel free to support from afar by donating to their GoFundMe to aid your local baristas. https://www.gofundme.com/f/fiction-coffee-tips-amp-donations
Dallas Farmers Market
We can’t forget all of our local vendors in the Farmers Market District. Though mostly known for its dense crowd, vendors are adjusting to the new norm by taking aggressive sanitary precautions while offering carry out and curbside delivery options for food and produce. Whether you’re planning on cooking at home or grabbing dinner to-go, the Dallas Farmers Market website provides a list of available vendors and their contacts to arrange transactions.
The Biscuit Bar
With three locations over Dallas, The Biscuit Bar is offering food and alcoholic beverage delivery right to your door (mimosa brunch anyone?), not to mention their free weekday lunch program for students Pre-K through 12th grade between 11am-1pm. No kiddos? You can still opt to sponsor a child’s lunch for $3 in store, online and on the app. You can make all orders through their app or over the phone.
Don’t forget to reach out to some of your beloved businesses not on this list to ask about take-out options – every order provides hours and income to the staff keeping them running. Take this time for yourself, connect with loved ones, and support locally. We can choose to find joy in the adjustment.
